Forward in Faith—Ray H. Hughes Sr. (1961)
The second speaker for the Church of God's Forward in Faith radio program was Ray H. Hughes Sr. (1960–1963). While still a young man, he distinguished himself as an outstanding orator, preaching the Word with great passion, spiritual fervor, and anointing. Prior to his tenure as the national radio speaker, he had served as pastor in Illinois and Tennessee, the overseer of Delaware-Maryland-DC, National Youth Director, and always characterized himself as an evangelist. He went on to serve in the highest offices of the denomination, as well as being one of the leaders of the worldwide Pentecostal movement.
